Popeye snack-restaurant (뽀빠이 분식)

Hello, everyone.

I am daniel Y. in seoul.

I am writing down this post because I want to introduce you one of my favorite local snack-restaurant in seoul.

I think you guys already know tteokbokki (떡볶이), right ?

The main dish of this restaurant is tteokbokki.
But the taste is very different.
So I love it.

Let's go together!!!

First, the name is POPEYE snack-restaurant.
As you know, POPEYE is the animation character of america.

Ah....This restaurant is around LOTTE TOWER MALL.
So when you visit this mall, you can eat here.

But it is not around JAMSIL subway station, you should walk around a little.

But it is not far.

I prepared the map. This restaurant is in the red point.

But I cant find this point in google map.

So.....First, copy and paste in google map >> "SDS삼성타워 동관"

Then across the road. It is the red point.

Find this small shopping mall.

If you cant find, show local people this photo and ask where to go.

No need to say. Just show them this photo. haha.

Then follow the below.

This is a kind of korea's old style market place. So you can feel korea's local life.

And ask how to go, showing the people this photo.

Finally we've just arrived.

Many people usually visit here.
But I took this photo when nobody is here..............for privacy.
(those are my friends)

You dont need to read the menu.
And you dont need to speak in english here.

This is the table setting.

We ordered "뽀빠이 볶음밥" (left) and "왕쫄라" (right)

This is the fishball soup. This is free.
We korean people like this so much.

Mix it first.

And start to eat !!!

Really really delicious !!!

Wonderful taste.

As i already told you, the taste is different from others.

our STORAGEs for your luggages around HONGIK UNI. station.

Now I tell you where you can put your luggages and bags around HOINGIK UNIVERSITY station.

We have 2 places.

First one is managed by my friend.
And the second one is managed by the subway station.

But, first one is much better and cheaper than the second one.
Because the boss is my friend.

Now let me tell about the first one.

It is also located in the subway station.
You can find it on the way to the exit one.

Go up the stairs and turn right. then you can see this shop.

Open the door. and get in.
Then he will help you.

This is the rate. very cheap and flexbile. (because he is my friend)

If you are too early or too late, this shop is closed.
Then you can use the locker.
It is on the left of this door.

Each place is big enough. You can put 2 big luggages in one place.

It is very easy to use.

First, just open it without password. It will be opened.

Then put your luggages in it.

Then close the door and press your password with 4 digit number.

This password is what you decide.

Understand ??

I means....after closing it, you press 4 digit numbers that you want to set as password.

This number becomes the temporary password of the door.

After pressing the numbers, the door will be closed automatically.

When you get your luggages back, it is the same.

Just press the 4 digit numbers, then open the door.

It is really easy.

Another storage is managed by the station.
There are many storages like this in the station.
But this is the nearest one from the exit one.

First, stand between the exit 9 and exit one inside the station.

And turn around. Then you can see this storage.

It is also easy use. You can use english, chinese, and japanese mode.
So dont worry.

But much expensive than the first one, and after midinight, you cant use this.

So I hope you use the first one.

Maya와의 인연

2016년 5월의 어느 날 오후였다.

나는 일을 마치고 잠시 바람을 쐬기 위해 사무실 밖으로 나왔다.

작은 사거리에 서서 가볍게 운동을 했다.

고개를 들어 위를 바라보니, 하늘이 매우 맑았다.

일에 치여서인지......갑자기 무료하다는 생각이 들었다.

"뭔가 재미있는 일 없을까..."

그런 생각을 하며, 앞을 바라보았다.

먼발치에서 걸어오는 여자 두 명이 한번에 눈에 띄었다.

일단 둘다 키가 굉장히 커서 확 눈에 띄었다. 그리고 옷을 잘입었다.

그래봐야 나와는 상관없는 사람들이다.

그래서 나는 그 자리에서 다른 방향을 향하여 계속 몸을 풀고 있었다.

1분 정도 지났을까......

어느새 그들이 내 앞에 와 있다.

내 머리 위에 있는 주소를 보면서 두리번두리번 거린다.

말소리를 들으니, 중국인들이다. 길을 잃어버린 모양이다. 도와줘야겠다.

-안녕. 길 잃었어 ?

-응.

-어디 가고 싶은데?

-근처에 맛있는 식당 없어? 배고파...

배고프다며 얼굴을 찡그린다.

-나랑 직원들이랑 평소에 자주 가는 식당 있는데 알려줄까?

나는 그 식당에 평소에 중국인들이 가끔 온다는 것을 알고 있었다.

-어. 고마워

그래서 나는 두 여자들을 데리고 그 식당으로 안내해주었다.

그녀들이 자리에 앉는것을 보고, 나는 사무실로 돌아간다고 말했다.

그러자 한 여자가 말한다.

-같이 먹어!!!

-그래도 되?

-응.

생각해보니, 사무실에서 지갑도 가져나오지 않았다.

-나 지갑도 없어

-괜찮아. 내가 사줄께.

그렇게 해서 우리 셋은 친구가 되었다.

약 30분 정도 밥을 같이 먹으면서 이야기를 나누었다.

그들은 중국의 산동성의 제남/지난이라는 곳에서 왔다고 한다.

나는 처음 들어보는 곳이다.

그중에 한명이 Maya이다. 물론 이것은 그녀의 영어 이름이다.

얘네들은 돈이 많은가 보다.

서울에서 지하철을 한번도 안타고 택시만 타고 다닌다고 한다.

밥을 다 먹었을 쯤에 내가 물었다.

-이제 어디갈거야?

-여기 뭐있어?

-근처에 성형외과 많아.

내 사무실은 압구정동에 있다.

-오...성형외과. 나 가보고 싶어. 중국인들이 한국에 성형하러 많이 오잖아.

-응 맞아. 그럼 데려다 줄께.

나는 그들을 압구정동에서 가장 큰 성형외과중의 한 곳으로 안내를 했다.

우리 셋은 그 병원의 로비에서 차도 마시고 이야기를 잠시 시간을 보냈다.

그리고 그들은 그 병원에서 수술을 한 것으로 보이는 마스크를 쓴 한 중국인 여성에게

직접 다가가 이것저것 묻는다.

한 15분 흘렀을까.......그녀들이 나에게로 돌아왔다.

-이제 나갈까?

-응. 어디 가고 싶어?

-근처에 뭐 있어?

-가로수길이라고 유명한 거리가 하나 있어. 옷이랑 화장품 매장이 많아. 가볼래?

-좋아. 가보자.

이번에도 그녀들의 가이드가 되기로 했다. 하지만, 시간이 너무 오래 흘렀다.

-대신에 너희들 데려다만 주고 난 사무실에 들어갈께. 난 일해야지

-응. 고마워

간만에 왔더니 길이 약간 헷갈린다. 그래서 지나가는 다른 사람에게 길을 물었다.

-가로수길이 한 블락 더 가야되죠?

-네, 맞아요.

-감사합니다.

내가 "감사합니다."라고 하자, 그녀들도 재밌다는듯이 "감사합니다."를 따라 말한다.

우리 셋은 다같이 웃었다.

그녀들을 데려다 주고, 난 사무실로 돌아 왔다.

이렇게 시작된것이 나와 Maya의 인연이다.

벌써 1년이 지났음에도 우리는 가끔 연락을 하고 지낸다.

필요할때는 서로 도움을 주기도 하고, 서로의 사진을 보며 안부를 묻는다.

그녀의 어머니는 굉장히 세련되셨다.

딱 봐도, 중국인으로 보이지 않고 굉장히 교양있는 청담동 부자로 보인다.

이미지는 대학 교수이다.

어느 날 나는 그녀의 어머니 사진을 보고 Maya에게 말했다.

-어머니한테 알려드려. 한국에 fan이 한명 있다고.

-하하하하. 그럴께

나는 올해 여름 휴가를 그녀가 사는 지난으로 가기로 결정했다.

인터넷에서 찾아보니, 지난에 관광 명소도 많다고도 하고,

또 1년만에 Maya도 만나고 싶기 때문이다.

지난에서 신나게 놀고 와야겠다.

When you arrive in the Incheon airport!!!

Welcome to Korea!!!

Finally you will arrive soon in Incheon international airport in Korea.

Feel so good ??

I also feel so good.

Many exciting things of Seoul and Korea are waiting for you.

But you should prepare somethings to come in to Seoul.

First, you will get these three papers in the airplane.

First one is the arrival card and the second one is health Questionnaire.
and the last one is customs declaration.

Remember that you should fill out these forms.

Unless, you can't come to seoul.

But these are really easy. not difficult.
